A child who will not read aloud in September takes a bow in December, in front of a full room, having learned the difference between saying a line and meaning it. That is the whole job. Acting, improvisation and musical theatre for grades 1 to 12, one night a week, at 1899 Bronson Road.

Inside the room
So the first hour is not about acting at all.
A group session is built from skits, theater games, improvisational exercises. Nobody is handed a script and asked to be good at it. The coaching is a careful balance of learning and creative expression in a safe, fun and supportive room, and the technical work arrives underneath it, week by week.

Why it works
Then the term is given a date it cannot move.
Every class on the board ends in a showcase, and the showcase is on the calendar before the first rehearsal. That is what turns a weekly activity into a production. A student who has been quiet for eight weeks still has a night in December when the room is looking at them, and by then they have somewhere to put it.
Showstopper mounts a full theatrical production. Broadway & Beyond performs its songs rather than singing them. LOL Improv has no script at all, which is its own kind of deadline.
The autumn term
Here is that date, and every week in front of it.
Fourteen weeks, three nights, with the evenings the studio is dark already taken out. Thursdays lose three of them this term and Tuesdays lose none, which is worth knowing before you register two children on two different nights.

Struck dates are the published no-class weeks: October 14 and November 25 on Wednesdays, October 8, October 15 and November 26 on Thursdays. Spring 2027 runs February 16 to May 13, with showcases in the second week of May.

The first room. Acting, singing and dancing arrive through games and skits, so a six year old is performing for twenty minutes before anyone tells her that is what she is doing.

Songs get performed rather than sung, and choreography gets mastered rather than followed. Acting and improvisation run underneath both, because a number that is not acted is just a recital.

New this year. Musical theatre fundamentals for the middle band, acting through song and the choreography that goes with it, for the students who are past the first room and not yet in a full production.

Improvisation and spontaneous performance. No script to hide behind, which is the point: the fastest way to stop being afraid of the wrong answer is to be given no right one.

Play Performance Class 3
The longest class on the board at ninety minutes, and the only one that mounts a full theatrical production. Voice projection and character development are worked on until the back row can hear the quiet line.

My child has never been on a stage. Is there a class for that?
Broadway Bound, grades 1 to 3, Thursdays at 4:15pm. It is built out of games and skits rather than scripts, so a first-timer is performing before anyone has used the word audition. Nothing on the board requires previous experience.
What does a term actually commit us to?
One night a week for fourteen weeks, with the published no-class dates already taken out, ending in a showcase in the second week of December. The full week by week calendar is on this page, so you can check it against a soccer schedule before you register.
How does registration work?
There is a $100 non-refundable registration fee and full tuition is due when you register. Refunds are not available inside 10 days of the session start, and a class can be cancelled if too few students enrol.
Who teaches?
Jennifer Kenny founded the studio in 2008 and is its owner, artistic director and primary instructor. She trained in the Conservatory Acting Program at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York. Summer camp is directed by Jennifer with professionals in acting, singing, dancing and music alongside her.
Is there anything in the summer?
Summer Drama Camp runs three weeks, open to children entering grades 3 to 11 in the fall. 2026 has two sessions, Willy Wonka Jr. and Guys & Dolls Jr. Campers rotate through musical theatre, acting, dancing, singing, improvisation and arts and crafts, and there is no camp on July 4th.
